Member Mike Cohen, musician and Kirtan teacher, shared his story with us about overcoming depressed energy levels with Cell Nutritionals supplements. Late in 2014 he began to feel tired and sluggish, started gaining weight, and getting depressed. By winter 2015 his energy levels plummeted to where he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to meet the demands of a busy touring schedule he had coming up. He eats well and exercises regularly but couldn’t figure out what was going on. A student recommended checking out his thyroid and referred him to a naturopath. His blood work tests revealed that lots of things were out of balance.
He was given prescriptions for a bunch of supplements but found that they were way too expensive so he decided to try out Cell Nutritionals products. Within a couple months he felt much better. His blood tests showed his triglycerides were down by 95 points, cholesterol down 29 points, non-hdl down by 30 points, thyroid stimulating hormone down 50%, and vitamin D levels up from 13 to 54, bringing all these metrics into a healthy range.
Thanks to the supplements, Mike’s energy levels returned and he successful completed a 3 month tour with a very demanding travel schedule. At the peak of his depression he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to do it. Mike also began doing hot yoga, another intense activity he doesn’t believe he would have been able to do a year ago.
Our prices make all the difference for Mike who does what he loves but doesn’t have a bottomless budget. His initial prescriptions were expensive. His prescription for fish oil was $25 for 60 capsules, while we charge less than $16 for 180 capsules. The milk thistle he takes for his liver cost $20 for 90 capsules from the prescription, but we only charge $5 for 60 capsules. Plus we test every batch to ensure quality. The competition can’t make that claim.
Because of this savings Mike was able to expand his supplement regimen to include other products recommended in Dr. Rodier’s Switching Off Chronic Disease. Mike discovered a whole world of new information in that book, which now informs his nutrition choices.
Mike is currently recording a new album of Kirtan Music and traveling to teach classes and train new Kirtan leaders. Teri loved talking shop with Mike about yoga and kirtan. A spiritual kinship instantly ignited between them over this shared passion. If you’d like to learn more about kirtan or see Mike in his element, check out his website www.mikecohenkirtan.com.
